Why 8, not 9 essential amino acids? Where's Histidine?Updated a month ago

There is a lot of conflicting research on whether Histidine is an essential amino acid.

While the human body cannot make Histidine, in the absence of consuming Histidine, significant metabolic mechanisms occur that compensate for the absence of that particular amino acid. For example, when the body is deprived of one of the other 8 essential amino acids, things start to go wrong in a matter of days, whereas, in the absence of Histidine, the body appears to compensate in such a way that even after month without it the person is not exhibiting any negative effects of the absence.

For this reason, we view Histidine as a semi-essential amino acid and did not include it in Fortagen. Since Fortagen isn't meant to replace food, the odds are good that you'll still be getting sufficient Histidine in your diet without our adding it to Fortagen!
