Why do I need the X3 bar? Or the ground plate? Why can't I just use bands?Updated a month ago

You can use bands on their own, and many people do this, but there's no great way to mimic what we are doing with the X3 without using the Bar and Ground Plate, and here's why:

Humans are 7X stronger in their strong range than in their weak range. This is why the variable resistance workout is so effective: It allows you to exhaust the muscle in your strong range, which is something you cannot do with weights.

The catch is that you need incredibly powerful bands to provide sufficient force to fatigue the strong range fully. Such forces are too high for smaller joints to handle without properly aligning.

Using heavy bands by themselves will twist the joints, causing pain and potentially damaging the smaller bones and tendons in the wrists and ankles. Neural inhibition will kick in and prevent you from actually being able to use the bands alone.

This video is a great demonstration of that!

The Bar and Ground Plate allow us to ensure that the wrists and ankles are protected and properly aligned so that you can focus on bringing the muscle to fatigue!
