Why does the X3 Force app default to X3 Split Squats instead of X3 Front Squats?Updated a month ago

Having your shoulders pushing up against the hooks on the bar will produce erratic and potentially wildly inaccurate force readouts, and it's easy to do that accidentally for an exercise like the Front Squat (and this is why we recommend keeping your wrists from pressing up against the hooks during other exercises like the chest press and the Overhead Press).

We left the Front Squat as an option in the settings just in case there are users with physical limitations that would make the split squat impossible, but we discourage it for ordinary use for the reasons outlined above.

Using the X3 Squat Belt and performing the Split Squats will provide more consistent Force recording and a better quad workout.
